題 目：Introduction to Video Analysis and Retrieval
That the video analysis and retrieval aims at analyzing video to detect and determine temporal events in video content, and extracting semantic information from video data sources. In this lecture, we will review their technologies, functionalities and applications, outline their benchmark datasets, and present an on-going series of workshops for video retrieval evaluation, at last give an example and a demo for surveillance video event detection.
Dr. Wenmin Wang received Ph.D. degree in Computer Science and Technology from Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) in March 1989, and worked as an associate professor at HIT from 1990. He came to Japan in June 1992, and worked as a senior engineer, section vice chief and staff engineer for Canotec, a Canon Group company, for more than eight years. From August 2000, he moved to Liberate Technologies Inc., as a senior engineer and architect. In March 2003, he jointed Zentek Technology Japan K.K. as a senior engineer and general manager of DTV Software Division. From January 2010, he was invited to join Peking University Shenzhen Graduate School, as a professor. He worked for NELVT Guangzhou R&D Center as a vice director at the same time. He has been the Executive Vice Dean from March 2012, the Dean since September 2013, School of Electronic and Computer Engineering, Peking University. His major research interests include Embedded Software, Web Technology, and Digital Media Technology.
